Anyone else have dreams in Spanish? ;)

Question

Here recently I have had a few dreams with me talking (...attempting) to talk in Spanish. Just thought it was funny. I'll take that as a good sign my study as a Spanish Education major is going okay! Anyone else have dreams in Spanish?

Hello Ashwad0024. I well remember my first dream in Spanish, in which, among other goings on, I was speaking in Spanish. It’s very exciting! Frankly, it happens seldom with me. But, I think the main point is this: it’s a bigger turning point on the path towards fluency than some people realize. It means, among other things, that you’re motivated and you’re on your way! It’s a big deal and calls for celebration.

By the way, what are your levels of proficiency in English and Spanish? Native English speaker/intermediate in Spanish? (Hint: please fill out your profile. If you don’t do this, other members are at a disadvantage when they’re interacting with you or trying to help you.)

I'm glad to hear someone else experiences this! I seem to have dreams in Spanish every night lately - although most of it is just gibberish with words & sentences that I've learned recently splattered throughout. My goal is to dream fluently one day. lol

I have had one in Spanish. It was a year or so ago but I remember being happy about it and also thought of it as a good sign.

Yes I have dreamt in Spanish a few times.

I was back in Bolivia and lost - speaking Spanish did not help me find my way home though.

Doesn't say much for my Spanish I guess.

Outside influences always influence dreams in my humble opinion. I know when I eat cheese within a few hours before bed, my dreams are always very vivid. Maybe some of us have eaten cheese while studying our Spanish right before bed time. lol

This morning I dreamt I was in my home town and an old friend from my home town was outside my house in the back yard speaking to someone in spanish, but not just any spanish, he was speaking using spanish slang from the specific region I currently live in, and I was totally confused that he was doing that as he only speaks english.. Then I woke up and realized it must have just been my neighbors outside talking and I picked up their conversation and incorporated it into my dream somehow.

It's weird how outside noises become part of your dream when you are dreaming.
