How to translate this subjunctive?

Hi, i'm having trouble translating this subjuntive sentence:

"No hubiera podido reconocerlo" (the lo refers to a man)

I'm confused as to whether it's "I/he wouldn't have been able to recognise him" or "I/he couldn't have recognised him or I/he couldn't recognise him".

Can anyone help? Also if you could translate the other possibilties I wrote that would be great, as it would help me see the difference.

I ( he) wouldn't have been able to recognise him. This seems correct to me.

I couldn't have recognised him . No pudiera haberle reconocido.

I he couldn't recognise him". No pude reconecerle. ( No fue/era posible reconecerle.)Para mi, no fue posible reconocerle ayer, había cambiado tanto.

This is what I think, I hope we get somebody better to help. I shall watchout for further ideas.
