For those of you who liked the original Destinos series you can now watch the sequel Nuevo Destinos for free on the PBS web site. http://www.learner.org/resources/series151.html?pop=yes&pid=1671#

It's basically a combination of some new material plus the original material. I've just started watching it so I can't tell you too much yet but Raquel has lost the 80's outfits with the big shoulder pads and has a slick new haircut!

When you click on the VoD link it will pop up the player in a popup window so if you are having problems viewing it then your browser is probably blocking popups. I had this problem in Chrome and I finally saw that in the right hand corner of the address bar (right next to the star you use for bookmarking) there was a little icon that's not usually there (I think it was red) and when I clicked on it I got the message about the popup being blocked.

Findy, I don't know if there is a transcript for Nuevo Destinos. There is one for the original Destinos that you can buy on the PBS web site for $45.95. Here's the link - http://www.learner.org/catalog/series75.html. I bought a copy of this but have found that I don't use it much.

Bill Van Patten, who designed Destinos, came out with a new movie a couple of years ago called Sol Y Viento which is similar to Destinos but a lot more modern. It's filmed in Chile and is about a family who owns a vineyard and an American company that's trying to buy their vineyard so they can build a dam in the area. It's got love, drama and a female lead that I challenge you not to fall in love with if you're a guy! It's got english and spanish subtitles. You can buy it at Amazon here - http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/0073202576?ie=UTF8&keywords=sol y viento&qid=1366245546&ref_=sr_1_4&sr=8-4.

Is there any way you could share the original video script , Didn't you find it useful - mark8508, Sep 11, 2017

Yay! I watched the first episode twice already and enjoyed it. I understood probably about 2/3 of the story, so at least got the gist of what's going on. Now I'm wondering if there is a transcript of the episodes so I can look up words I don't know yet, since I'm curious about what happened at the one (surprised expressions) part near the end.

Thank you very much, Mark, for the heads-up on this helpful resource. smile

To answer my own question... I found the quizzes for the episodes. Great practice. I'm really excited about the videos, etc. (But you can't tell, can you?) **bounces** - Findy, Apr 18, 2013
Do you have the link for that one on the quizzes? - katydew, Apr 19, 2013

I was able to access it. Look for the "VoD" symbol to the right of the episode titles.

Thanks for letting us know about this resource!

I did do that and it just opens up to the same page - a list of the episodes with VoD symbols on the right (over and over). :( I'll keep trying. Maybe I need to change some settings? - Findy, Apr 17, 2013
Okay, I did a search and just put Nuevo Destinos PBS for free, and now the VoD symbols work with that. Must have just been that link? - Findy, Apr 17, 2013
Thanks. That is a helpful hint. - katydew, Apr 19, 2013

Here's the link for the Annenberg Foundation website, where you can watch (old) episodes and take the quizzes that go with each section. Destinos I took the first quiz and it was helpful for picking out individual words from the dialog.

It seems a bit older, but I suppose you could watch the PBS version (updated), and then go here to take the quizzes.

I looked at it, but all I can see for choices is to download it for $110 or buy the DVD's for $125. Maybe there's a different link?
