Hello can I say this;
'he estado trabajando allí por varios años'?
To mean 'I have been working there for several years'.

More natural would be "he trabajabo allí varios años."

Yes, while technically correct, the from "he ... por..." is not very common. The common form would read así, "Hace varios años que trabajo allí."
