help with odd translation please !

Hi, I was hoping someone could help me translate and/or figure out what some of these words might be.
It is in hand written cursive written on leather so I might be off on some letters. (especially the lowercase a's and o's are hard to tell)
It is on the side of a leather covered canteen; "Elrúno es como el baño amadle la hace daña"
On the other side is a crude painting of a man sitting/sleeping with a sombrero covering his face, leaning up against a stack of barrels, a bottle in front of him on the ground and a Blue Agave plant (guessing) - and I am guessing wither an sunrise or sunset in the background.
