Acronym for Global Positioning System
How do you say "Global Positioning System" or "GPS", in Spanish and is there an acronym for it?

A simple way of getting a basic translation for many things that you know will have a Wikipedia entry is to go to the entry and go to the language column and change it to Spanish:
Oh, and note, even when they spell out the name in Spanish, they still tend to use the English acronym, as in this entry:
sistema de posicionamiento global (GPS)
I've seen SPG, but just using the English acronym is far more common. I've set up white a few GPS bases lap-timers and data-acq systems and in a fair number of cases, in Spanish, an dacross a few different brands and they've all used GPS even in Spanish.
I've mostly seen Spg in technical articles discussing the underlying technology, not in consumer targeted stuff (though that may exist too - natives will know better)
sistema de posicionamiento global
Thanks, all!
