Many times people will use "No es nada" to say "You're welcome." Just like we say "It's nothing" or "Don't worry about it."

You'd also use it if someone says, "Does this bother you?" You'd reply, "No es nada" or "No me importa."

As said above, " No pasa nada" is very similar to "No es nada" at least in Chile. Both are good translations for "it's nothing"

Here, (Spain), if you thank someone you will often get the reply, de nada You might be in a shop, just before you pay...

**¿Algo mas? No, nada mas.*

Often heard here : " no pasa nada " Used in the sense " that's allright / ok " when someone says " sorry " or similar.
