Bien, Buen or Bueno/a
Hi all, This might be a stupid question but... what is the difference between, bien ,buen and bueno/a? Thanks Stu

Good question, Stu. The main difference is that "bien" means "well" (doing something well, feeling well, etc.) and "bueno" means "good" (a good pizza, a good person, etc.).
- Bien (well)
Estoy bien. (I'm well).
Bien hecho (Well done).
- Bueno (good) after masculine nouns
Los tacos son muy buenos (The tacos are very good).
- Buena (good) for feminine nouns
Usted tiene muy buena visión (You have very good eye sight).
- Buen (shortened masculine form placed before the masculine noun)
Es un buen libro (It's a good book).
El alcohol es un buen desinfectante (Alcohol is a good desinfectant).

Bien means 'well'; bueno/a means 'good.' Buen is just a shortened form of bueno and is only used with masculine nouns.
Normally bien is an adverb that modifies verbs, adjectives or other adverbs.
So you do something well - bien.
Habla bien el español. You speak Spanish well.
The verb hablar is modified by bien.
But bueno is mainly used as an adjective that modifies a noun.
So something is good - buen, bueno/a
Él goza de buena salud.
He enjoys good health.
The feminine noun health is modified by buena.
