Confusion in "amos" and "áis"

Question

Hi both amos and áis are used for "We". But i did not clearly understand when to use them? I didn't understand the explanation " for people in spain" and "for people everywhere else". Can someone please explain this to me?

Confusion indeed, the "áis" inflection is for the 2nd person plural vosotros, used only in Spain:

Nosotros tomamos

Vosotros/ustedes tomáis/toman

That is a fantastic question Villa, Diagon answered pretty good. The people of Spain use the vosotros form which ends in áís. If your from the south like I am it is the same thing as "Y'all" And when your teacher says everywhere else... he/she means that in places other than Spain you would use the ustedes form. If you say vosotros they will understand you, it just wouldn't be what they would naturally say. Hope that helps!!!
