How to Pronunce ee.uu?

Question

I never heard it pronunced and wonder if it is pronunced by each of its letters plus the ponto. But somewhere I saw it like pronunced estatos unidos. But I thought it should be like English where USA is pronunced by sounding each letter. Muchas gracias.

It´s not pronounced because the double letters indicate plural, so we just say "(Los) Estados Unidos".
