Speaking fluent Spanish depends on how hard you work outside the lessons by speaking and most importantly listening to Spanish speakers with understanding.

I've finished all four lessons and I understand everything in the lessons, but I won't count myself fluent until I can use all of them with ease. I also need to learn more about what words and phrases mean in casual conversation outside of the normal dictionary meanings.

You are welcome. If you do all the lessons, you'll have the tools to do the above. I took 3 mos. of basic Spanish in Costa Rica then used the lessons on SD to follow-up and learn beyond the present tense. The SD lessons are a great start to fluency. - katydew, Mar 30, 2013
