The person for whom i worked.
Hi All.
Im trying to figure out how to say
The person for whom i worked.
Or . The person i worked for.
I'm thinking something sort of
"La persona para quien trabajé"
but I've never seen that para quien combo before, so I'm afraid that's maybe a bit too literal
Can anyone help me out?
Thanks

If you don´t like your literal answer you could say "mi patrón anterior", but your answer is the right idea, although I would say "la persona por quien trabajaba".
In this case both and "por" and "para" are acceptable, but by using "por" there can be no confusion between this person being your employer and doing the work of someone.
Thanks Julian. This is exactly why I don't (and rightly) trust my own stupid efforts. Now that I think of of it, trajababa makes more sense. But I learned to use 'para' for "in the employ of", so I would never have arrived at your answer. So much to learn. Thanks for helping us until we get there.
