Hi, Kevin, welcome to the forum.

Gohern has a good point:

Becarful when you see Está which is a form of the verb estar....it is. Accents make a diffference

  • Este libro (This book--masculine)

  • Esta mesa (This table--feminine)

  • Está (a conjugation of the verb "estar" in the present tense)

  • Esté (a conjugation of the verb "estar" in the subjunctive mood)

The former is for feminine, and the latter for masculine - both singular.
