Two part verbs???

I am trying to compile a list of verbs that are frequently/always followed by another word. For example "asistir a" or "alegrarse de." If you can think of any more please let me know...especially the more common ones. Also, is there a specific name for these kinds of verbs that have two parts?

Tratar de= To try to...

aprender a = to learn to

ayudar a= to help to

Darse cuenta de= To realize

acabar de= to have just [done something]....

olivdarse de= to forget

These are just a few off the top of my head

The specific name of "two part" verbs in English is phrasal verb.

The sub-names of a phrasal verb are prepositional verbs and particle verbs.

Also, here is a list of verbs categorized by the preposition that they use.

Fairly certain it isn't exhaustive though.

On my phone. Some how Spanish was auto corrected to Spamosj. - Fredbong, Mar 25, 2013
I'm fine. Taking courses at the university for a Spamosj minor. The classes for my actual major are less difficult than for this minor. - Fredbong, Mar 25, 2013
Thanks Fredbong for a good link. - britisk, Mar 25, 2013

Practice each verb with its counterpart and you'll begin to use them together naturally.

  • Soñar con = to dream about (Soñe con my padre. I dreamed about my father)

  • Pensar en = to think about (Estaba pensando en ti. I was thinking about you)
