I would like to write the year 1623 in words and cant remember the rules or how to say it?

mil, seiscientos veintitrés means 1623. mil, quinientos veintidós means 1522.

Knowing the rules requires a bit of memorizing. mil means one thousand. There's "ientos" in each ending. Just put in the "seis" or the root word.

This is how you write the numbers:

Mil, seis cientos, veintitrés

Mil = One thousand, seis cientos = six hundred, veintitrés = [and] twenty three.

From what you have written in your profile it would seem that you are complete beginner so I would suggest that you learn the numbers here from 1- 10 and how to pronounce them correctly.

After you have learnt them you could work from 11-20 then after that on another occasion... 21 -30

Finally learn to count in tens from 40 upwards 40, 50 60 in Spanish until you reach one hundred.

It is very important to become reasonably secure/confident in knowing your basic numbers 1-10 and 10 -20 and knowing how to pronounce them well (you don't have to be perfect before moving on to higher numbers which build on your earlier knowledge and understanding!
