El precio de la vivienda son

Why is it 'son' and not 'es'?

Isn't the price singular?

Does the price come plural when the amount is mentioned?

Good question. I´m curious too, assuming not a mistake. - rogspax, Mar 21, 2013
But you can say "Los precios de las viviendas son desproporcionados". You can form the plural of "precio". el precio es / los precios son ;-) - Chyeko, Mar 21, 2013

El precio de la vivienda son

You could easily understand this clause by providing some context such as a complete sentence. For example it could be "El precio de la vivienda son quinientos mil dólares."

Good point! Sure it is why they use the plural. - Chyeko, Mar 21, 2013

Not enough context, but you are right, it is "es". I think this must be a mistake.
