ya lo se or yo lo say

can someone help clear up the meaning between ya lo se vs yo lo say, I am watching a movie with hardcoded Spanish with English subtitles and the text says: 00:34:26 ¿Qué haces aquí? 00:34:28 - Yo lo sé. - ¿Qué? 00:34:31 Yo lo sé. 00:34:36 - ¿Qué sabes? - Ya sabes. 00:34:39 Creo que sé lo que sabes que sé. 00:34:42 No sé qué crees que sé, pero no lo sé. 00:34:51 ¡Tu perro está vivo! 00:34:55 - Eso es imposible. - Ya lo sé. and English translation is: what are you doing here? - I know. - What? I know. - Know what? - You know.

- That's impossible. - I know. I see that yo changed to ya just want to know it this is correct or is there grammar rule I might be missing for this one? muchas gracias a todos!

"Ya lo sé"= "I already know (it)."

"Yo lo sé"= "I know (it)" with emphasis on 'I'.

Both are perfectly correct.

ok just thought it was strange that (I know) x3 in English changed from (yo lo sé) x2 and (ya lo sé) thank you - mrowe, Mar 20, 2013
