What is 'Identificante'?

I can't find this word in spanishdict.com's dictionary. It's the translation of 'identification' somewhere, but the translation for 'identification' is 'identificación' in this website.

The sentence is 'Y como Identificante te pedirá el pasaporte'. It's translated into 'you'll be asked for 'el pasaporte'.'

I don't find 'como' to be 'for'. Is this right?

I couldn't find this word, however, perhaps try using identifacable, identificación, idenficador/a, or idénticamente.

Yeah, the translator freaked out for me too, but when I tried google translate, it gave me the answer that I expected but wanted to verify. "Identificante" means identifying, e.g. an identifying mark.

"Un Identificante" is something that identify you.

You would say "identificante" the way you say "votante" for a voter, or "habitante" for a resident. You are using the present participle to describe a person or thing by an action being taken.
