Comparación: Sutileza vs. Sutilidad

Question

Hola muchachos y muchachas

Alguien me puede explicar la diferencia entre sutileza y sutilidad por favor? Y quízas cuándo pasa delicadeza mejor?

Hay unas traducciones de palabra subtlety en el diccionario aquí, pero ningún ejemplo usa una de las traducciones. Qué raro.

There are translations of the subtlety en the dictionary here, but none of the examples use any of the translations. How strange.

Aunque "sutilidad" es una palabra muy infrecuente, el Diccionario de la Real Academia Española la recoge con exactamente el mismo significado que sutileza. - noyonarte, Mar 12, 2013

Hello, theyr'e synonyms altough sutileza is the most common. Whenever you have a doubt like this i suggest that you check the Real Academia Española dictionary online.

No sé si sutilidad existe..

Thanks Annie. Both google and the mobile version of SD show sutilidad as valid. (which is where I ended up having this question in the first place) but the online version doesn´t. This is the 2nd or 3rd time I´ve noticed that discrepancy so I´m now pretty convinced the underling look-up engine for the two flavors of SD are different.

No sé si sutilidad existe..

Sutileza significa sutil ( subtle) , tenue ( thin), delicadeza ( delicacy) o agudeza ( keenness).

Podemos hablar de una brisa sutil ( a gentle breeze) pero una inteligencia sutil es muy listo! ( sharp!)

Eso es lo que dice mi diccionario.

Las dos palabras son exactamente lo mismo.

Pero es mejor que digas Sutileza, es más usada, es más fácil de decir y es más elegante.

Both of these words exist and are synonymous according to RAE (Royal Spanish Academy). It is more usual sutileza (subtlety(). Regards
