Hola,

A veces se me confunde la diferencia entre saber y conocer ya que saber = to know information y conocer = to be familiar with una persona, lugar, o cosa. En este caso cuál diría?

Yo no sabía muchos modismos antioqueños antes de visitar allí (I didn’t know the slang before visiting)

O

Yo no conocía muchos modismos antioqueños antes de visitar allí (I wasn’t familiar with the slang before visiting)

Creo que en este caso que los dos cumplen sin embargo espero una respuesta de alguien que tenga una respuesta concreta. Les agradezco la ayuda

Like you said, it's mostly a question of exactly what you are trying to say. Both would do fine here, but I would probably use "conocer."
