Some weather questions and grammar...
I know that there should be accents on the words. Take no notice of that please.

Forget and disregard the part about flashes. It looks like global warming, right? But I want a weather phrase, like "hacer calor" not a noun, like el calentamiento global.

and I am supposed to describe it. My sentence is, el nino tomo las pastillas. Is that okay? There isn't a boy in the picture, so I don't what to say. I have to say "take pills," I just don't know what to add in front of it. Do you think that is okay? It might be a girl, not a boy, taking pills. What then? Should I say, "alguien tome las pastillas"

I´m gonna try to answer your doubts the best I can. The phrase: Había un noticiero grande is not correct. If you mean it lasted so long, you could say, "El noticiero duró mucho tiempo." I´m not sure if you are describing if so, you can say: "Había un noticiero que duró mucho" (tiempo is implied in this phrase).
About the short weather phrase, well, I don´t know what kind of phrase you would like to say. In Spanish we say "Hace calor" or "Está haciendo mucho calor" or "Hace un calor infernal" (meaning: it´s so hot like hell).
About the pills, I don´t understand why you want to mention a boy if there´s not anyone but the pills. Here, I´d ask you to tell me the purpose of describing the pills, what is it for? Or just need the physical description??? ...What do you want to say about it...
