sunburn and aftermath

Hi all

How do we say sunburn in Spanish? I don't have lot of confidence in the translators for compound words. And following, what about peeling skin, afterwards?

It turns out that even in the cold, it can happen, especially at high altitude, Such as 2500 meters.

The SD translator is also a dictionary when single words are entered. It also has a phrase book that helps with special meaning (idioms). I used this to get sunburn "La quemadura" the noun and "quemarse " the verb. I think you will find it works for peeling skin or the skin peels.

I think you are talking about "las quemaduras del sol" (Sunburn), which it is painful skin that feels hot to the touch, usually appears within a few hours after sun exposure and may take several days or longer to fade. Intense sun exposure that results in sunburn increases your risk of certain complications and related skin diseases. These include dry, wrinkled skin, liver spots, actinic keratoses, but mainly skin cancer because of the UV radiation, which it continues to be more dangerous due to the increase of the hole in the ozone layer. You know, normally, the ozone layer keeps us from getting surburned.

As for "peeling skin", it means "la descamación de la piel", In fact, within a few days, the affected area may begin to peel. This is simply your body's way of getting rid of the top layer of damaged skin. You can avoid this by getting out of sun exposure between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. Because the sun's rays are strongest during these hours, try to schedule outdoor activities for other times of the day. Seek shade whenever possible. If you're unable to avoid being in the sun, limit the amount of time you're outdoors during these peak hours.

I think despellejar is a good one for peeling skin.

And 'quemadura' is probably the most common for sunburn - but this thread gives a few options.
