I translated it more or less literally, but the second part might be better translated as...
Being a mother comes before being a woman.

I agree with both of the previous translations but because there is no context provided, it could also mean "Take better care of your children ......" (Care for them better than you are doing). We also use "Mejor" as an adverb.
