Wondering about an expression...
Hi there! I know we're not supposed to ask for translations, but I have searched in my usual places and I can't figure out the meaning of this (probably idiomatic) phrase I heard on TV: It's either "Salirle el paso" or "Salirle al paso", I'm not quite sure.

Salir al paso de algo = to be quick to deny something
Han salido al paso de la acusación = they've been quick to deny the accusation
Salir del paso = to get out of trouble
