to teach? or to learn?
The recent word of the day, enseñar, has, "A Gabriela le enseñaron cómo hacer un salto complicado usando el trampolín." This is translated as, "Gabriela learned how to do a complicated jump using the diving board." I thought this verb meant "to teach, or show"?

They taught her how.......
You're right, enseñar means to teach or show. The Spanish sentence says, literally, "To Gabriela, they taught her how to do a complicated jump using the diving board (or trampoline)."
The translation switched around the subject and the object and dropped any mention of who did the teaching. Notice how you can even imply that Gabriela learned it on her own since there's no mention of who did the teaching. But the original sentence clearly says that she was taught, and that more than one person (they) taught her.
So you're right. The translation is poor.
