I suppose it's technically correct? '' Lagatitaverde, if you put in such strange questions I shall estrange you!'' sounds odd.. Then you can be my estranged friend.

I cannot remember hearing it very often, and never in the present tense. I estrange my husband? No, sounds odd! However: She was estranged by her husband seems vaguley acceptable.

This is probably up the wall, go with Ray's native speech!

OK, I see what you mean now. Yes, the usage might be a bit strange, so I´m with you, But there are many many verbs we use in one context or voice or mood, but might not in another, even though it would be perfectly correct, technically.. There are those cases where foreigner might say, ¨Could I say XYZ¨and we have to answer ¨Yes, and it would be correct, but we´d never say it quite that way¨
