@Dad of Tickl - What a great effort on Tickl's part. This is rather difficult for adults let alone a young person!
The hyperlink is correct. He’s used the globe icon perfectly (see screen shot)
If he’s able to edit the phrase, “enter link description here “ to something more descriptive, more members are likely to click on the link. A suggestion might be “Information about Pumpkins”.
The photograph is a bit tougher. If he’s in Wikipedia:
-- 1. left click on the image and it will open in another window (usually it’s a larger image)
-- 2. right click on that larger image
-- 3. click “view image”
-- 4. copy and paste that url address (usually that photo will be by itself with a white or black background)
-- 5. In your case the url address is:
http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/9/99/Pumpkins.jpg/800px-Pumpkins.jpg
-- 6. click on the light green square icon (see screen shot)
-- 7. use the address above to get the individual photo to post
