Could someone please expand on the meaning of this word please? I know the primary meaning is "dawn," but here's a second definition I found on wordreference.com, but I'm having trouble understanding it.

alborada nf: Literario (composición poética que canta a la mañana) dawn chorus n En la alborada de los tiempos los dinosaurios poblaban la Tierra.

I can see why you're confused as the given example doesn't match the literary meaning of dawn chorus. The dawn chorus occurs when the songbirds sing at daybreak.

The sentence about the dinosaurs refers to 'the dawn of time' - 'la alborada de los tiempos' which is something completely different.
