That ship has sailed

Ese barco ha navegado/ salido

Is there a phrase in Spanish with a similar meaning? That the time for something to happen or opportunity had passed.

Hay otra palabra: zarpar se dice "set sail" / ha zarpado. I think you can try saying the same thing in Spanish. The metaphor should convey the same meaning; however, in English this has become a bit of a cliche because of common use for lost opportunity, not explaining a fact of a ship having disembarked.

Maybe matiasv or sinmeta or luisssito will have a suggestion. You can always send them a PM. Here's the set up. In a conversation you want a commonly repeated phrase for summing up a conversation about something that is no longer possible to do. It may have nothing to do with ships in Spanish and there may be multiple ""idioms" in various regions of the Spanish speaking would.

Have you tried the Phrasebook here?

Ese barco ya ha zarpado

You can use it in a literal or figurative sense to say that the opportunity was lost.
