Animo Guapo!

Animo Guapo!

What does "Animo Guapo!" mean? I saw it used at the end of a paragraph as a 2-word sentence all by itself. I've put it into 3 different translation machines and they have returned 3 different responses!

Thank you!

Let's start with the easy part, guapo. Guapo = handsome, good looking

Ánimo can mean "cheer up". So, depending on the context, "Animo Guapo" could mean "cheer up handsome".

In a different context, let's say you're working out, ánimo would mean something like "let's go", "pick up the pace", basically a form of encouragement.

Ánimo! Puedes hacerlo Let's go, you can do it!

Ánimo guapo! Let's go handsome!

Without context it's hard to be exact, but hopefully you get the idea.

Rodneyp´s explanation is perfect, but it should also be noted that "Ánimo" is a noun and in this case it is used to replace the imperative verb form "Anímate".

As encouragement we also say "Anda" or "Ándale."
