I found the answer. I should have read the whole article first. Teresa is a metro stop in Coyoacán. Seems like we should be able to delete our own posts, at least if there have been no replies.

An article about the metro system in la Ciudad de México (and other Latin American cities) that I am reading starts with "Hoy es el primero dia de Teresa en la Ciudad de México" and then goes on to tell about taking the metro down to Coyoacán, I do not understand what that opening sentence means. I know what the indivdual words mean except for "Teresa". It seems maybe that Teresa is a holiday and a time when people will be traveling but I not been able to find anything on such a holiday. I have found the "Teresa" is a popular telenovela but that doesn't fit into this article. Does anyone have an explanation?

I think you misunderstand, I did considerable searching. I did neglect to read the entire article first. That is the problem with being a human. - kirk1, Feb 19, 2013
