Rosetta Stone Voice recognition

Question

I'm curious to hear about others experiences using Rosetta Stones voice recognition.

The voice recognition is driving me crazy, I speak the word over and over, and I'm continually prompted to repeat again. I know my pronunciation isn't perfect, but its ridiculous simple words seem impossible.

Have others using Rosetta Stone experienced the same issue, if so were you able to find a solution.

You can adjust the speech recognition settings: click "set preferences", click "audio settings" tab, then adjust the "speech precision level. Hope this helps!

Have you used the graphs? Sometimes the stress on a particular syllable, or the pronunciation of certain letters can be very subtle. I have trouble with "vamos", "por" and "el", which all have a different tongue position than in English.

BTW, I have the speech precision level set at difficult.

Thanks, I sruggle to understand the graphs. I use them to slow down the teachers voice, but the graphs remind me of some sort of monitor I would see in a hospital. LOL - dmartino, Feb 17, 2013

For me the problem is almost always how the lips and tongue forms the consonants. The placement is different for "V", "L" "R" "D" "TH" and probably many others. Also the stress and rythym of the word. Try playing "Buzz Bingo" on the browser and you'll - PeterRS, Feb 17, 2013
