We have a physician here from Nicaragua who pens his initials then adds an "R" We all want to know what the "R" is for and he is enjoying our inability to figure it out! So, can you tell me what this might stand for? He is an MD and also a "third", as in John Doe, III. Thanks grin

It can be the Horus eye, an ancient Egiptian sign for good health. It's still used on prescriptions. If so, he puts it to say he is a medical doctor. It's simplified as an "Rx"

Hello, welcome to the forum!

That means "registered". TM means trademark. R means registered trademark.

A wild guess. Rex shortened to R

Rex (Latin) king; the term rex is tied to the Latin verb rego, to rule.
