If the subject of the main clause is the same as the dependent clause the infinitive is used and not the subjunctive.
The imperfect tense in the main clause is fine.
If the subject in the dependent clause were different than the main clause, then the subjunctive (imperfective, preterit, past perfect or condtiional) could be used in the dependents clause.
Hope this helps
Guesses, here, I could be totally mistaken.
I think : Me da vergüenza , in the present works fine, but , daba, sounds a bit odd, perhaps??
Remember, I'm a learner, no more!
I think the first statement is constructed the most properly. Your question title suggests that this is about the subjunctive. I do not think. the subjunctive is required. I think you are making a positive statement about embarrassment. But, as she said, I am a beginning struggling learner.
