Expressing affection towards a child

Expressing affection towards a child

I recently sponsored a young boy in Nicaragua through the Compassion program and am trying to write to him in Spanish. I would like to know how to tell him that I care about him and love him. Specifically, I would like to say "I want you to know that I care about you and love you very much" and "not only do I love and care about you but God does too, more than I ever could" but I would also like to learn the expressions so I can use them in different contexts as well. Thank you for your help!

You might want to use the Vos conjugation, but I'll refrain from using it in my answer as I am not overly familiar with it's usage. "Queiro que sepas que te quiero mucho y que me importas mucho. Pero también deseo que sepas que no solamente yo te quiero y te amo, pero también que Dios te ama, más que yo jamás te podría amar." That's probably a little rough, so any corrections are welcomed.
