Xiexie ni. (Grasias en Chino escrito en pinyin.) Gong xi fa cai. Yes tomorrow is the first day of the Chinese New Year celebration. Actually it is today because it is in the wee hours of Sunday morning in China right now. And that is true for everywhere in Chna because, although it is a large Country, there is just one time zone. The New Year celebration lasts for several days, up to 15 days if you count all of the celebration through Lantern Day. The Chinese usually take about a week off from work and some will add some vacation time and be off for longer than that. And a lot if not most of the business' are closed.

I have to vote for your effort. Over here, we don't celebrate it at all, it goes us by, to be honest. - annierats, Feb 9, 2013
Nor here annierats. Sometimes we will go to a Chinese restaurant on Chinese New Year because China was our home for four years; - kirk1, Feb 10, 2013
