Which is the proper way to ask?
I am going to be working in an office and my Spanish needs some work! Which of the following would be the proper or best way to say 'what is the law?' for example, what is the law firm I have a contract that is not honored by someone else? Or what is the law for discrimination at work? I don't want to embarrass myself! Thank you!

I might go with "¿Cómo es la ley?" If you're asking for more details about the law. It changes according to the sentence, and it can be a little subtle to know which one to use. I'd do a quick review of asking questions online or in a textbook if you want to have some flexibility on what you will be able to say.
I think you are trying to ask about the law in specific instances:
Or what is the law for discrimination at work?
¿Qué dice la ley acerca de la discriminación en el trabajo?
¿Qué es la ley tocante...? might work too, I believe... just add the area or field you wish to learn about and it should suffice, in simplest terms of course.
(On second thought, I actually prefer "cúal" for this inquery)
It is best to put your sentences into the translator and then ask questions about the sentences
