I am very grateful to you for giving me a chance.

This expresses the idea "humbly thankful and highly appreciate" in English

Another option to Jubilado's excellent suggestion might be:

I am very grateful (and would like to thank you) for this opportunity.

Another idea: If you are in the U.S., make sure you thank the interviewer for his/her time. In most countries that have a low-context culture (focus on the individual, personal space, and job “success”), like the U.S., Canada, England, Germany, etc., time = money. Time and being on time reign supreme here in the U.S., because we don’t have a high-context culture (communal, focus on the group, family, etc. with a more lax attitude about time). “Thank you for your time” is the most important thing to say as you leave the interview, at least if you’re in the United States.

Thank you, Jubilado. I talk about this one a lot with my ESL students. - brian5764, Jan 31, 2013
Whoops. I had my low- and high- turned around, but they´re fixed now. - brian5764, Jan 31, 2013
