How do Peruvians say sink?

Hello SD community!! I was wondering if anyone could tell me how people from Peru say sink. My wife seems to believe that they say lavatorio, but I can't find anything on the internet to confirm this. Thanks.

Hate to tell you this but I believe your wife is right, jeje.

Kitchen sink = caño or fregadero

Bathroom sink = lavatorio

A little heads up for next time, if you can't find any discussions, posts etc on the subject just try a good search for images, here's the one for lavatorio

I have spent time in South America but I especially checked this with a Peruvian friend of mine and she confirmed what I'd found on the net :) - Kiwi-Girl, Jan 30, 2013

"Lavatorio" may be a regional usage in Peru, but it really means the action of washing, which would explain why you haven´t found anything on the internet.

In Mexico "sink" is commonly called "lavabo" or "fregadero".
