It's a set expression, it can't be translated word-by-word. Now, it can refer to several things, it's difficult to know without context.
"me dio cosa" can mean "It gave me the creeps", and it also can mean "it made me feel a little bit uneasy/embarrassed".
A mí me da cosa comer pescado crudo, por ejemplo.
what exactly are you looking for a translation? Basically you wrote 'you gave to me a little of/from things', it does not really make sense in my opinion.
I started to look it up, but google produced over 3 million references, so I'm voting for Cogumela. I have tendency to take the easy option, I'm afraid.
