Cada vez que nos .......(encontrar,ellos),nos ......(saludar).

My book says the first is encontraban, second is saludábamos.

But I think the second is saludaban. Who is right?

Either one seems correct to me. It depends if you want to say "they greeted us" or "we greeted each other."

It would be helpful if the book provided a person, like with the first option where "ellos" was provided so you could tell who was doing the action.
