"de tratar"

Question

Today while reading I came across this phrase: Soy una persona muy dificil de tratar. (Sorry I cannot add the accents on my phone). I looked up the word tratar in the sd dictionary and became even more confused! I could only find uses such as tratar de or tratar con.I am assuming it means something along the line of...I am a difficult person to deal with OR I am a difficult person to get along with. Is my guess even close to being right?

I am wondering if it means that he/she is difficult to understand, ie, personality, manner, etc, which would also make him/her difficult to get on with.

Yes, you are absolutely right.

Also in a very different situation, ie: you want to get to know / to go out with a guy, so here you would say "te quiero tratar / quiero tratarte."

Tratar de can mean "to deal with" so I think you're both right, though I too would prefer to hear from someone more advanced than me.
