Maybe "What a day we have today!" What a great day, or What a bad day. But the question mark is confusing. Just a guess.

But these are correct: Menudo chollo! =What a deal! Menudo elemento! What a character!

Yes, I agree with this. ¡menudo lío! what a mess! - I think that the ¿? is a bit of an understandable mistake... it seems like it may call for ¿? but it's not a question, same as in English. - avispao, Jan 21, 2013

My guess: We're having a miserable day. We got up on the wrong side of the bed today.

I think it's an expression for when everything is going wrong.

The sentence makes no sense. Here are the meanings of the words seperately.....

Menudo = often

día = day

llevamos = we take, we carry, we wear, etc.

hoy = today

Although you're quite right with your literal word for word translation, not everything can be translated literally and menudo can also be translated as 'what a!' :) - Kiwi-Girl, Jan 21, 2013
imagine if someone tried to translate 'it's raining cats and dogs' literally, jeje ;) - - Kiwi-Girl, Jan 21, 2013
"A menudo" is often - Eddy, Jan 21, 2013
Menudo on its own is sometimes used in exclamations. - Eddy, Jan 21, 2013

Hi guys thanks for the answers! Sorry about the confusion with the ? mark. That was meant as my question!! The phrase is without the question mark!! And I think it means What a day we are having today!! As it is really cold and miserable here in Madrid!

Thanks
