what is háblanos?

what is háblanos?

Hi Everyone,

I just encountered a strange conjugation and I have no idea what it is and how to identify it. The word is háblanos and it was in this sentence:

Bueno, pues muy bien y ahora háblanos un poco de ti.

I would assume that it is some kind of imperative, but the correct form in imperative for "hablar" in the nosotros from is "hablemos", no?

Please help me with my confusion!

Gracias!

Agota

I believe it means, "talk to us". "Tell us." In your sentence: tell us.

AAHH, yes, you must be right!! This is when you put the us and the verb together! This is what confused me! so it is habla (tu imperative) + nos together and you add the accent to maintain the emphasis! Great, thank you! smile
