Using Possessive Pronouns

Could you check my attempt at using prossessive pronouns? I think I might be close but no cigar. The execise is to form sentences using the given words. Forma ocraciones con estos elementos. Usa del presente y haz todos cambios necesarios.

  1. yo / necesitar / usar / impresora / de Miguel / porque / mío / no / funcionar

    Yo necesito usar la impresora de Miguel porque la mía no funciona.

  2. y si / yo / pedirte / computadora, / estar / seguro/a / de que / ir / decirme / que / no poder / usar / tuyo

    Y si yo pidote la suyo computadora estoy seguro de que va digame que no puedo usar tuyo.

There are additonal sentences to be formed, but a critique of these two should help me work them out.

Perfect

y si / yo / pedirte / computadora, / estar / seguro/a / de que / ir / decirme / que / no poder / usar / tuyo

Y si yo te pido la computadora estoy seguro de que vas a decirme que no puedo usar la tuya.

I will be honest. I am a native speaker and I am struggling to make a sentence using present tense and all of the required elements which makes some sense, apart from being grammatically correct. I find no way to do so.

Ok, the sentence above is grammatically correct. But I'm wondering, really, what does it mean?

And if I ask you your computer I'm sure that you are going to tell me that I can't use yours. (???)

Puzzling.

Si, está muy rebuscado este ejemplo. Pero es que por lo general, así se habla en inglés. Y los ejemplos nunca se escapan a la lengua nativa por alguna razón que desconozco. - francobollo, Jan 12, 2013
Thank you both, I feel a lot better now about not understanding either. Gracias, uds. Me siento mucho mejor ahora sobre no entender tampoco. - kirk1, Jan 12, 2013
I am a native speaker in english. I thought "perderte" was equal to "to barrow" or to ask to barrow". Is "pregunto pedir" I ask to barrow better? - gohern, Jan 12, 2013

  1. Necesito usar la impresora de Miguel porque la mia no funciona. (Yo not needed}

2 Y si yo pediría suya computadora, estoy seguro de que va decirme que no tuya puedo usar. (va and the infinitive for informal future, suya and tuya with computadora, I used conditional pediría with yo because 1st and 3rd person have same verb spelling)

Thank you. Yes I know that" Yo"is not needed but the protocol on the website where I do la tarea is usually if they are only try to indicate the person to use the will put it in () e.g. (Yo). Otherwise I think they want you to use it. - kirk1, Jan 12, 2013
