A otra cosa mariposa. Do you know what it means?

A otra cosa mariposa is a very common Spanish phrase. Can you guess what it means and share it with the forum?

Here's an example of usage:

Venga, Pedro. A otra cosa Mariposa.

Creo que se puede utilizar como pasar página. Por ejemplo un hombre que no puede dejar de pensar en su ex que lo dejó hace un año. Ya es hora de pasar página, a otra cosa mariposa.

Por lo menos esa es la impresión que me da el pie de tu foto

But save that line and put it with today's phrase and you'll have an awesome start to a poem, a Spanglish poem. - katydew, Jan 11, 2013

when you have to do a lot of diferent things, you have finished one of them so you have to start with the next one, maybe completely diferent. So can say,

He terminado de hacer los deberes del colegio y ahora tengo que hacer la comida para mañana. Yo puedo decirme a mi mismo. ! Ahora a otra cosa mariposa.!

Could it be that it takes two people to be in a relationship? Maybe one loves and one doesn't for one reason or another. You need to deal with reality and move on.

that´s the direction I¨m leaning too. Move on! - rogspax, Jan 11, 2013
You cannot make someone love you. It's time to say goodbye/ - pmikan-pam, Jan 11, 2013
Move on is close, but not because of a break up. - francobollo, Jan 11, 2013

Is it like the poem? If you love something you need to set it free, if it comes back it is yours but if it doesn't it was never meant to be. ¿Es como el poema? Si te gusta algo que usted necesita para libre, si vuelve es tuyo, pero si no lo hace nunca fue destinado a ser.

Yes, but that sounds a bit like beating around the bush for this particular phrase. - francobollo, Jan 11, 2013

My guess:
Okay, let's talk of something else now. Change of subject, please! (as this one is too confronting, difficult, vulgar, ....).

I think it has little or even nothing to do with something sentimental etc. Forming part of an informal context in a conversation, you just want to slip from one subject to another, probably because you believe that there's nothing more to say or add.

Could it be? It is time to say goodbye to all the good times we have had, all the things we used to do and hold dear. At least we tried to make our love come back, we will always care for each other, but it's time to say goodbye.

I see it as a reference to metamorphosis.
