imperfect subjunctive question for you
I was watching a story about the creation in spanish and I sentence read: Si comieres de ese árbol ciertamente morirás.
Why is comer is subjuntive? And also, why is it in imperfect?
I would have said" Si comes de ese árbol ciertamente morirás.

Hello, kyle!
comieres is not imperfect, but the old, obsolete future subjunctive, which is no longer used.
So your sentence is perfect with "comes", and the one you've come across sounds like olde Spanish.
