El pago ha sido aplicado (or asentado en libros) y los fondos están disponibles. Sorry, but Spanish is not as succinct as English.

Annie, cancelar una deuda in Spanish does mean to pay it. I know it sounds crazy when compared with to cancel in Spanish. We also say "saldar una deuda." - francobollo, Jan 7, 2013
When someone pays their bills or buy something in Costa Rica they stamp the receipt canceled. Many places they put what you want aside and you go to the "caja y cancelar el recibo" or pay and show the canceled receipt to collect your purchase. - 00551866, Jan 8, 2013
