Do not walk in the middle of the road
Not sure whether to use en or por. Help please

If you are talking to someone, "No camines por plena calle / via / "etc. or ".... en medio de ....".
If this is on a sign, it would say "No caminar por la vía" or "Se prohibe caminar por la vía" and without reference to the middle of the way.
No camines en media de la carretera/ la calle. Or: No camine por la autovía.
I hope this is right, if you use the 'in the middle' it become 'en' but if you just say don't walk on the motorway/ in the street, it is por. This is only what I think, further answers will be interesting.
No camines en medio de la vía is what I would use. Vía can be used for a highway, street, small road, etc.
As a beginner in Spanish, I offer this opinon:
Do not walk in the middle of the road. No camine en medio del camino..
However perhaps a case could be made for: No camie para el medio de comino.
One of the rules for the use af "para" as oppose to "por" is when referring to the direction or route of travel. ruta de viajar.
There are lots of people here that can enlighten us both.
I wish to add, that, ' la mitad de la calle' also seems to be in use.

I would use 'en' for this one. In this sentence, I think 'por' would mean 'through' the street or 'by means of the street" . I'm interested in Annie's discussion on this one since I'm learning on this one too.
