Names and conjugations

Hi! I know most of the conjugations for words, I'm just learning Spanish,

like the verb eat, it is comer. For a sentence though, you'd have to change it to, "tu comes", and so on for I, he, she, them.

I was just wondering for names, would the ending conjugation be "e" like so:

Pare el desayuno Miguel come huevos.

Since you are new to SD, welcome!

There are some great lessons by video that are free (like everything on Spanishdict.com). Click around on the blue toolbar above and you will find the free video lessons, grammar explanations, and practice exercises under the tab "Learn".

Another thing I use all the time on this site is the translation device which gives 3 different translations to pick and choose from. However, you can't rely on this totally since it makes mistakes and doesn't always catch idioms.

The verb conjugation tab on the toolbar is one of my favorites. Put 'comer' in the box and you can see nearly every conjugation you will need.

And on your original question, singular nouns use the (él/ ella/ usted) form of the verb. Plural nouns use the (ellos/ ellas/ ustedes) form of the verb.

In case your English grammar is rusty, nouns include people, places, and things.

Glad you are learning with us. Well done so far!

Oh cool I totally didn't see that! :) English is my first language but I don't like it, too many words that mean the same thing. - deinomos, Dec 31, 2012
I'm always amazed at how much this site offers for free. I've sure enjoyed learning here. - katydew, Dec 31, 2012

Great, thank you. :) I just had a little confusion since I'm learning from a textbook and it didn't specify really. - deinomos, Dec 31, 2012
